Between Two Worlds tells the stories of a group of Jewish refugees who escaped Nazi Germany and settled in West Yorkshire more than fifty years ago.
The book is the result of a collaboration between photographer Lizzie Coombes and writer Rachel Feldberg, who wanted to pass on these stories so that people of all ages could understand what it means to be uprooted and start life again in another country.
The design had to be discreet – to allow the words and images to 'tell the story'. The reader needs to see the past as always a part of the present.
